Great game. September 2, 2010 Jay Grant (Colorado) Excellent game. IMO it is one of the few games that makes it worth the cost of a PS3. I'm a little more than halfway through the game and it gets more fun to play each time I pop it in. I must admit that I almost gave up on the game within the first thirty minutes when I got to a point where I needed to climb to the top of a church and get to a point on the roof before the character's brother. I had trouble figuring out how to climb at first, but once I learned what to do the game really took off for me. My only complaint is that it's almost too easy to climb things and dispatch your enemies (especially of you've hired some mercenaries to back you up). None-the-less, it takes some planning and fore-thought to pull off some of the assassination missions. I can see myself picking this game up and playing it even after completing the main storyline.
Software Major Error Spoils Game August 28, 2010 PCH Kid The game was fun until a major software glitch stopped progress in Sequence 11 and the game would not let me continue. I tried to fix it, but to no avail.
This game has been out awhile. You would think the creators would have fixed the problem by now, but many web reviews of this game mention the same problem. I hate to be frustrated by PS3 games with software problems, and this game has a doozy!
Improvement August 27, 2010 Brian C. Smyth (Boston, Ma) After playing the first Assassins Creed and being disappointed by the repetitiveness and annoyances that plagued the game from it ever being any good I was skeptical going into the second game. Although I've heard that it was a lot better so I tried to keep my faith and work my way through it. Assassins Creed 2 is better by night and day and that's an understatement. From the cut scenes to the story line there was a massive improvement. The graphics were top notch, just amazing sights to behold and the story to me was a little confusing towards the end but very well crafted. The game had a lot of similar things as the first but had more things to do and in different ways. It is still repetitive but far less annoying. I actually really enjoyed playing this game, my only complaint would be that the controls were a mess. I kept doing things that I wasn't trying to do. Climbing up buildings were frustrating when I couldn't get Ezio to climb the part I wanted him to, he would just jump off the building and I would die. But other than that this was a fantastic improvement and I can not wait until Brotherhood comes out.
easy to learn, fun to play August 25, 2010 James Whitworth (Gilbert, AZ USA) this is the only game i earned a platinum trophy for. i am not a big ps3 gamer but this was a fun game indeed. it is easy to learn and the buttons are not complicated. you get most of the trophies throughout the story of the game. at that point it just takes a little effort to platinum the game. if you like grand theft auto type games this is a great game that is very similar.
