Amazon.com Product Description

NBA Today
NBA 2K10 is committed to providing a realistic NBA experience. Just one aspect of this is NBA Today, in which all the real world matchups, news and stats are automatically streamed right into your game providing dynamic commentary and presentation elements based upon what is happening in the real NBA.

My Player Mode
My Player Mode is perhaps the most exciting new feature built into NBA 2K10. Instead of focusing on over all team status, My Player Mode is a career mode, allowing players at home create the ultimate NBA player from the ground, up and guide his every career move. Start as an undrafted rookie in the Summer Leagues, where you specify every aspect of your character's game and physical makeup. Work hard enough throughout the series of games played here, gathering enough experience points along the way to build the skills your player needs at his position and you may get an invite to participate in an NBA team’s training camp. And if you don't make the cut, not to worry there is always the D-League, where you can work more on your game until you get your next shot. Either way, the road to being an NBA star is a long and hard battle full of challenges.

Crews
Basketball is a team sport, and NBA 2K10 acknowledges this with its Crew functionality. Round up your friends and build the ultimate squad, using either your created players from My Player mode or an actual NBA team, then go online and battle other Crews for bragging rights and progression points as you try to climb your way to the top of the Crew leaderboard rankings.

Living Rosters
The 2K Insider and his team of NBA analysts continue to keep NBA 2K10 fresh with up-to-date team and player information, including roster and lineup moves, trades, injuries and player ratings. Now track all of the changes through the season with interactive menus and analysis.

Seamless Online Experience
Forget the past, with NBA 2K10 online play is fully incorporated into every mode of the game. Now you can play the AI, challenge the friend sitting next to you or play your buddy across town anytime, from anywhere in the game. The game features 1-4 player support in versus and coop play locally and 2-10 player support in versus and coop play online with up to a full five man roster on each side.

Signature Play
Signature Play pulls together all of NBA 2K’s player Signature Styles and adds in all-new Signature Tendencies and facial expressions, creating NBA 2K10 teams that play and react like their real life counterparts for an unbelievably realistic NBA experience.

New Intuitive Offensive Controls
All-new easy-to-use dribbling and post game controls allow you to pull off ankle breaking Iso-Motion moves and dominate like Kobe from the perimeter to the paint.

Shut Down D
Every NBA star knows that offense is flashy, but defense wins championships. With this in mind NBA 2K10 gives you the opportunity to show your stuff at both ends of the court. Shut down teams like never before with innovative defensive controls that allow you to shadow your opponent’s every move, deny position off-ball, and even select how you want to contest shots.

5 out of 5 stars Listen To Me   July 13, 2010

This is the greatest basketball game of ALL TIME. If you are not a real ball player and expect to score every time you shoot then I ain't even talking to you. This game is for grown ups clearly. -Ritchie "King of Ypsilanti" Knox

1 out of 5 stars The gameplay is better on PS2....   July 9, 2010
E. Bailey (Oklahoma)
I just want to play a semi-realistic game of b-ball on my PS3....

The PS2 version is more fun....

Why can't the HOF all-stars be mixed in with the current players in the FANTASY DRAFT ???? That's why you call it a FANTASY DRAFT....

The gameplay has been sacrificed for graphic quality, I guess....

I guess I could adjust the sliders but WHY SHOULD I HAVE TOO !!!!

Hopefully 2011 will be better, as for now I have to replace my worn out PS2 console, so I can play a fun game of semi-realistic b-ball using the 2k9 version of the game where I can blend in the old with the new in a real fantasy draft.... Problem with that, I'm a OKC Thunder fan & the 2k9 has Seattle on it & Kevin Durant looks as big as Karl Malone, also no Blake Griffin....

4 out of 5 stars Another great NBA 2K game   July 6, 2010

This game was great, nice graphics, nice sound, updated rosters. The players look realistic and move well. I like the different game modes especially the "NBA Blacktop" mode. The one thing I don't like is when your offense you can't just lock one guy( for example you can't just lock on Dwight Howard, you'll automatically control everyone who has the ball).

3 out of 5 stars Awkward defense, that makes me angry   May 17, 2010
Jeff W. Shimkus (Switzerland, Basel)

I've been playing old Xbox games before this weekend, and boy was I blown away by this game. I love basketball games and play out seasons on the hardest levels with 12 min quarters (not simulating any games) and so I do for NBA 2K10. 2K10 is so cutting edge that I, sometimes, instantly recognize players by their body language! And 2K10 comes packed with some fun extra's like: it brings AWESOME headliners after every game! I love that. No other basketball game has done this.

I loved how the commentaries will discuss about last game, saying so and so had a good/bad game and other cool stuff. But even with that, it does seem like the discussions are recycled, and even worse, when you are losing, they can irritate you. I sometimes have to turn the commentary off, because it just isn't fresh any more.

Though the moves are realistic, I find the defense ridiculously porous. It is very difficult to stay in front of your defender, when on the hardest level. And playing team defense is a puzzle that I haven't cracked yet, so I give up many open three's through penetration and weak help defense. My computer players are numbskulls, and really make me angry sometimes.

But the presentations are awesome, and I like the more realistic dunks as opposed to arcade-like dunks of older games. Jump shots are quick, not slow and easy to block like old games, but the other side of that is how insanely challenging it is to slow down a HOT shooter on the other team. I love how good they make true shooters of the game, but some players are making three's, that have no place making any in the first place. I've had centers hiting threes on my Lakers.

The mannerisms are RIGHT on for some players. I love how Lamar Odom, after a bad call, lays the ball on the court (he really does that!) so that the ref has to go get it. In the end, it is a visually addicting game, that, on the harder levels, really test your disposition for non-violence. Perhaps I have only myself to blame, but in my uncontrolable anger towards my teams porous defense allowing 80% shooting (at home) I threw my control to the wall and broke it.
