4 out of 5 stars Good controller for Guitar Hero/Rock Band   February 18, 2010

This is a nice guitar. It has higher frets and lower frets for children, or people with small hands.

PROS-
Inexpensive, I bought mine for a surprisingly low price of $12.49

Higher and lower frets

Sturdier Whammy bar than original Rock Band guitar

Strum bar seems better than original Rock Band guitar

Overdrive/star power function is superb, You can go into over drive very quickly(Tilt up and play, during a pause, you just press any random fret, you do not need to wait for actual notes like in Rock Band)

Start/select buttons are smaller and farther from strum bar, no more accidentally hitting select to go to overdrive

Has a PS button

Lightweight

Has guitar mode adjuster, waha, chorus, etc

CONS-
Lightweight(pro and a con), seems very cheaply made

Strum bar is noisy

Smaller than Rock Band/Guitar Hero guitars

Whammy bar is short

The PS button cover came off, doesn't affect game play or controller, it's now just a white button instead of black

Start/select buttons are teeny tiny

(My biggest peeve of this guitar) The lower frets are not solo keys, just normal smaller frets, so during a solo if using the lower frets, you still have to strum

It is made for Right-handed people, ie strum with right hand, press frets with left. You can select lefty mode in-game, but there is no way to have a strap if you are left handed

The receiver is maybe 9in, whilst the Rock Band guitar receiver is only about 4

The strap is shorter than the Rock Band one

Guitar is made of cheap plastic

The D-pad is also troublesome. The d-pad is messed up, right is right, left is left, up is down and down is up.

OVERVIEW-
Great guitar. Has some problems, but it is durable. Great for me to finish my band, (bass guitar, drum mic).

4 out of 5 stars Rock Band/ Guitar Hero Explorer   February 13, 2009

This guitar is great if you don't want to deal with the Rock Band controller and prefer something more stable. It works with solo's and has no stick or jam while being used. Although it is a little small, it is lighter weighted and very sturdy. It would be great with kids if their arms were long enough for them to play to their specifications. Even the "child buttons" might be a little difficult for kids at first. All they need is a little time to get used to it and then they will be rockin in no time.
