One of the bests game ever. July 22, 2010 Jaime Diaz Phi (PR) The best horror/survival game I've played in years. It will have you at the edge of your seat the whole game. The only thing I can say is BUY THIS GAME!!!!!
Great Alien-Horror Game July 7, 2010 Paul Dicocco (Malverne, New York United States) Dead Space has plenty of shocks and thrills, especially for a horror-sci fi title. I wouldn't call it a "survival horror" per se. It's nothing like the Resident Evil series, but it does deliver plenty of chills. I had to deduct a star because I would have loved to see some cinematic cutscenes interspersed with the storyline, which really doesn't develop until much later in the game. It's not until the 8th or 9th Chapter when you're fully hit with what's going on (i.e. the Unitologists). Also, the semi-3rd person view was a little clunky at times. Maybe this would have been better in strictly first-person? I don't know, but that's just my two cents on the issue. Overall, it's a must-own title, so be sure to pick it up, especially at this great price.
dead space July 6, 2010 dbob666 killer game! in space no one can hear a zombie scream! a must have in any ps3 owners library!
Very solid horror game! July 3, 2010 V. Mann If you enjoyed movies like Pandorum or Event Horizon this is for you! Solid game play and they keep it simple enough that you're not running around in circles wasting time. This will keep you on your toes and you cannot beat the price!
WOW this game is Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! June 27, 2010 C. O'Niell 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I finally got around to buying DS, I didn't like the demo way back when it first came out, it seemed too difficult, but I guess I didn't really try too hard.
So if you have played the demo and didn't like it, don't base it off that. DS has great progression, it works you up to harder enemies very smoothly, and never got boring, I always felt like I was accomplishing something every step of the way. It didn't feel like I was just busting up monsters with no objective. I personally didn't feel much of the backtracking some reviewers had commented on, it just felt right, more realistic if you will.
After playing through the game on my first play through, (I'm starting on my second round now) I couldn't believe how awesome it is, overall just amazing. And after you beat it once you get to keep any upgrades that where made to weapons, rig and equipment. And that's awesome.
I'm almost speechless on the game it self, Dead Space 2 has a lot, and I mean a lot to live up to (can't wait). DS has everything I could want, crazy amazing story, leaving lots to figure out later for sequels, comics, and animated stuff like Downfall, I really hope they make a movie someday of DS. It has a large variety of enemies, that all have there own way of being killed. And the puzzles, it's got some great puzzles. The Graphics are pretty slick too, especially for a 2008 game. The makers did a great job of creating a believable atmosphere and world.
If you like the games in series like Quake, Doom, Fear, Bioshock, or anything like that, then this is for you, if you have never played a survival horror game, start with this one. You will not be disappointed.
