5 out of 5 stars Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga   July 24, 2010

excellent game to play, every one should play this game it's really hard to put it down!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Still fun, even though it is an older Logo game   July 22, 2010

This is a great offering as it gives you all 6 movies in one game. The playability is not as fantastic as the newer Lego games like Indiana Jones versions, but still very enjoyable.

5 out of 5 stars The Definitive LEGO Star Wars   July 9, 2010
R.A. McKenzie (New York)
Quick history for you:

LEGO Star Wars was released in spring 2005, and allowed you to play Episodes 1-3. In other words, the prequel trilogy of movies from 1999-2005.

LEGO Star Wars II was released in fall 2006, and let you play Episodes 4-6. It was subtitled "The Original Trilogy", based on the 1977-1983 films.

So, now we've got "LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga" which packs both games into a tight, inexpensive package.

I'll make this simple: If you've never played either "LEGO Star Wars" videogame, then this Complete Saga is easily the way to go. Not only do the enhancements make the game better (at least on X-Box 360 and PS3), but here's the other great thing: YOU WON'T LOSE ANYTHING FROM THE ORIGINAL RELEASES.

You see, when videogames are repackaged and enhanced, sometimes the new versions remove certain aspects from the old games. So if you're wondering what, "What am I not gonna get from this Complete Saga edition?", here goes:

* Although not a single level has been removed, most levels have a slightly changed obstacle here and there. For example, in "LEGO Star Wars", you might've needed a bomb to open a certain door. In this Complete Saga, you may need to use a stormtrooper instead. Not much a difference, if you ask me, because the levels' designs are identical to the first time around.

* In this Complete Saga, all six Episodes and bonuses are accessed from the Mos Eisley Cantina in Tatooine, similar to "LEGO Star Wars II". The original "LEGO Star Wars" had the prequel episodes from Dex's Diner on Coruscant. Quite frankly, I doubt anybody will care about this change, but if you wanna know, there you go.

So, that's all you're gonna miss. You have to deal with a couple secret area strategy changes and a different level select hub. Hope that's not a deal breaker, because EVERYTHING ELSE is in this Complete Saga.
* Every character is available to unlock and/or purchase.
* All the secrets and bonuses are back.
* The story cutscenes haven't changed at all.
* The same great gameplay and silly annoyances are back.
* Every level from the Episodes is back, with a few being redone or added.
* Now get this - a couple stages from "LEGO Star Wars" got revamped for this disc, but the original versions are unlockable. If you really want the old Podrace level, the old Geonosis battle, or the Episode IV bonus stage... they're back too.

I can't emphasize this enough, NOTHING HAS BEEN REMOVED!

If you're unfamiliar with this series, in short, you will play through the "Star Wars" movies with LEGO characters and worlds. It's family-friendly, relatively easy to play, and kinda funny too. I will warn you that Episodes 1-3 are simpler yet tougher, while Episodes 4-6 are more complex but much more fun. In other words, if you start with Episode 1, the Complete Saga will take a while to get moving. But if with it, you can easily grab 15-20 hours out of this sucker, more if you try to find all of the hundreds of secrets and bonuses.

"LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga" is by no means a masterpiece in the history of videogames. But for [...] bucks, it's a huge piece of easy-to-play entertainment with a revered film series giving it a nostalgic rush. Whether you're playing solo or with a friend, this is one of the smartest cheapest buys you can add to your PS3 or X-Box 360 library.

(Sorry Wii owners, but those motion controls are too clunky for me).

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't hope for more   June 29, 2010

This game was everything I hoped it would be. It has provided my 5 year old son with endless fun. He is a huge star wars fan and I enjoy just watching him play. This game has tons of replay value as he tends to go through the levels several times trying to find everything he can with different characters. If you are a star wars fan or are looking for a game that is not too difficult for small children, I would highly recommend this game.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Game For Young Children But Not As Much Fun For The Grown Ups   June 16, 2010
Rich (CA)
My friend had just bought the Lego Indiana Jones and fun that to be most entertaining for himself and told me as a Star Wars fan that I should buy this game as well, and while it is cute and has a vast area and story of the Star Wars universe after playing some of the chapters of episode 1 through 3 I just did not find it entertaining myself. I don't try and dissuade others but as expected this game is meant mostly for the younger players and while my friend may find himself entertained by these kind of games I'm more into the more adult oriented action games like Uncharted, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil to play myself. The game does give you the option of playing the Star War saga episodes I-VI and seeing all the characters made up like this is a little funny as you see iconic characters from Luke Skywalker to Anakin Skywalker and friends and the effects animation and soundtrack as well as bonus extras are amazing for this game though I haven't used them all. So is it worth getting for Star Wars fans?, I say yes even though it is more of the young kids game it still will hold some entertainment value for most fans as well as players but if you're a hardcore action fighting gamer than you might want to pass this over....
